Instagram and IGTV Content Can Now be Scheduled on Facebook!

Advertisers can schedule content on Instagram & IGTV for up to six months.

The much-awaited update is here! Facebook has officially announced that the Instagram posts and IGTV videos can now be scheduled for up to six months.

Instagram posts can be scheduled

The problem that the social media professionals used to face till now was the unavailability of the feature to schedule any Instagram posts and IGTV videos. However, in an official announcement by Facebook, the company has made it clear that it now allows the advertisers to schedule an Instagram post or IGTV videos up to six months’ time frame.

Facebook announced the new feature at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam where the company also announced the other new capabilities of the live stream feature like watch party and creator studio.

However, the ability to be able to schedule an Instagram content is not completely new to the social media professionals but allowing it to the first-party users definitely reduces the dependency on some third-party tools which often used to fail to post content on time.

Also, the new feature from Facebook allows advertisers to use multiple images in a particular post and schedule it which was not available in the third-party tools earlier.

Even though it’s a blessing to all the social media professionals, however, it comes with a limitation for Instagram stories where the feature is yet to be made available by Facebook.

To use this new feature, one needs to have an IG business or creator account which is to be linked to a Facebook page for this feature to work. As soon as the two accounts are linked, the scheduling can be done for the IG posts & IGTV videos.

As mentioned earlier, along with the new scheduling feature, Facebook announced two new capabilities of the live stream feature which are watch party and creator studio.

Advertisers now have access to a new “rehearsal” feature which allows the user to broadcast a live video to himself/herself only in order to check and see if everything is perfect before broadcasting to the entire audience.

Live videos can now also be trimmed and in addition to that the broadcast time has also been extended from four hours (earlier) to eight hours.

Watch parties also can now be scheduled in advance and replayed later as well.

Facebook has added a few new metrics to the co-watching feature as well.

Facebook is also adding a new list of performance metrics to the creator studio to allow publishers to gather more and more information about their content.

The live captioning feature will now allow more than 13 languages going forward, which includes major ones like Arabic, Chinese and German.
